About The Artwork

The series "Abstract Ethereal" is a collection of one-of-a-kind abstract paintings, all of which have the characteristic feature of recalling something ethereal, light, otherworldly. The meaning of ethereal is something extremely delicate and light in a way that does not seem to be of this world. At the same time, the paintings in this series give thoughts of earth, grounding, stones such as topaz, lava, granite - as the paintings are all partially painted with the "earth colours" ocher, umber, burnt sienna, raw sienna and black. And with the more ethereal colors: light blue, cerulian, white. Abstract Ethereal 2 – 202415 is the second one-of-a-kind painting in a new series “Abstract ethereal”. It is painted with acrylic paint, oil pastel and pen on gessoed 300 gr cold press paper in the size 40 x 50 cm. The painting is varnished with matt varnish with UV protection to protect the painting from dust and sunlight. It is signed on the back. About the artist: she has painted for many years and had exhibitions in Denmark and Europe. She grew up a few kilometers from the place where the famous expressionist artist Emil Nolde painted his breath-taking paintings, and Nolde's paintings have been a great inspiration. So have many other well-known European and American artists. She has also worked as a researcher and teacher at DPU, Aarhus University, Denmark and has traveled the world in this connection. The deep knowledge of many languages and cultures, of people and stories has provided a great ballast and background for all the artistic work, which she now deals with full time.
