Abstract Landscape 72a Painting

In this painting I use several materials to create an image of mater and space that enables a moment of drifting in your mind. The paintings are actually a two-dimensional assemblage. I stretch a jute sack on the canvas and place on it rips of pieces from the printed layer only of ultra-thin and delicate paper napkins with patterns and motifs from the plant world, glued with fine yacht lacquer. The coarse sack emphasizes the contrast to the delicate paper and motifs which creates a deep and interesting texture that brings up different connotations related to the connection and conflict between industry and nature. The image of the horizon allows us to experience depth and think about infinity.
