About The Artwork
An abstract pastel on heavy cotton rag paper. The paper is lightly off-white. I went lightly over the paper with the side of a cream-coloured pastel making sure that the beautiful paper will still partly be seen. I used only artist quality soft pastels and added some lines with graphite. The work is 21 x 29.7 cm / 8.3 x 11.7 inches The work comes with an off-white coloured mat, so in total the dimensions are 30 x 40 cm / 11.8 x 15.7 inches

ARTIST STATEMENT: Life is a largely subjective experience; but that subjective experience is my bridge to the objective world. And it’s this synthesis of the two that I am trying to capture. INSPIRATION AND PROCESS: I love experimenting and want to give my works an individual expression. I have two lines of work: I love painting almost (but not quite) realistic, somewhat utopian, nature images and on the other hand I really enjoy doing non-objective/abstract art. I am inspired by the beauty and power of natural phenomena, the mystery of nature, its colors and forms. Every painting is a one-of-a-kind work in which I try to combine feeling and thought. I work most of the time with acrylics but I also mix acrylics with other media such as oil pastel, soft pastel, spray paint, graphite and charcoal or ink. All materials I use, if canvas, paper or paints are of artist quality.
