ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This is an ongoing development into using and wrapping nylon monofilament to create an unusual medium. The effect of blocking off an abstract painting using what appears to be a shiny defective brushstroke akin to a vinyl record texture allows for a strong contrast between the two halves of the artwork. As the viewer walks around the piece the nylon reflects the light and allows it to change in relation to the painting.

Reflecting, diffracting and absorbing light, my work achieves a sense of weightlessness that both disorientates and remains elusive; making visible the forces and energies that go otherwise unnoticed in the everyday.
