Addicted To Blue Painting

An original oil painting on canvas. This piece has been inspired by the dramatic weather on Dartmoor where I live and have my studio. Clouds roll in, winds pick up and after terrific sunshine, suddenly it will be howling gales and dark skies. It's incredibly beautiful and fascinating. I hope this painting will give the viewer energy and a lift yet it also inspires a deep calmness due to the ethereal qualities and a sense of dream-like serenity. I paint using oils as they are by far the most versatile medium in my opinion, blending can take hours or days which is great as this paint stays wet. I find the colours to be richer with oils as well, perfect for dramatic skies.
