Using oil on canvas or panels, Molly presents stories in a lyrical and fairy tale bizarre atmosphere, mainly featuring unfamiliar forest landscapes with boys and girls who have not yet grown up. In a post-community society where criticism, prejudice, and irresistible huge discourses abound, modern people unconsciously admit their wrongdoings and end up losing their ego by throwing themselves into the mysterious world like a boy lost in the forest. -The artist projects modern people accustomed to anxiety and loneliness on a boy who is lost in the forest. In particular, she believes that the fear and anxiety of modern people living in the pandemic era have resulted in the ephemeral nature of another life, like the medieval vanitas painting, and that the symbols of loss, wounds, and fears have grown to become wild and huge forests within each of them. -Molly Kim graduated from Ewha Womans University with a major in Clothing and Textiles and has been working as a full-time artist since 2014 after working in the fashion industry for more than 15 years. She had 10 solo exhibitions, including a booth exhibition at Seoul Art Museum and various selected group exhibitions. She has received numerous awards, including the 2019 ASYAAF Hidden Artist selection.
