AGUA DONDE VAS Water, where are you going? The paintings were exhibited in a one-man show in the old Torre Vella fortress overlooking the Mediterranean, in Salou, Spain. They were inspired by a children's poem by Federico Garcia Lorca, with the images of the fortress windows in mind. "Water, where are you going? I'm running down the river to the shores of the sea" "Agua, ¿dónde vas? Riyendo voy por el río a las orillas del mar"

Eliahu Dallal is a painter currently living and working in Tel Aviv, after living in London and Barcelona. Born to parents who immigrated to Israel from Iraq, Dallal considers himself a product of the fusion of diverse influences and identities. His work deals with the zone of negotiation between Eastern and Western cultures in an abstract fashion, utilizing written words in Hebrew, Arabic, English and Spanish in combination with color and form. Most of Dallal's works are acrylic on large sheets of paper or canvas, utilizing a technique he has developed of applying many thin layers of transparent paint in order to create a sense of depth and luminosity.
