ABOUT THE ARTWORK
'Adrift' is part of a series of abstract work, titled; '‘No Borders’. My current body of abstract work is an energetic statement of hope, love, connection and courage. Each painting is made up of many, many layers, creating depth and texture. The colours used, the movement and energy of paint application are connected to the energy and feeling of the environment I find myself in. On the surface the subject matter is predominantly environmental, resulting in the creation of abstract seascapes and abstract landscapes full of narrative, meaning and deep connection. Each individual painting has the sense / perception of an area I have visited, or often a combination of places. There is a level of detail that persuades the viewer to revisit - discovering new secrets each time. This starts to reveal the true nature of the pieces, how it is not necessarily a visual translation of a place but instead a feeling, an interpretation of energy and emotion of past, present and potential future.

Currently doing a 12 month residency in Greenwich UK Educated in Bristol UK, where he studied & received his BA (Hons) Degree in Fine Art & Certificate in Higher Education in Photography. What initially appears to be two very separate and distinct bodies of work (Abstract Painting and Mixed Media Photography), are in fact profoundly connected and interlinked.
