African Acacia Thorn Tree in teal, orange and mustard orange. The artist has spent many hours in the African bush photographing and observing the wildlife. The artist was in the Etosha Game Reserve in Namibia, Africa, where vast plains stretch out across the horizon, interspersed with the odd tree or animal. The artist wanted to capture the African vibrancy using the vibrant orange, orange mustard and teal. The symbols in the background are African in origin and reflect positive messages such as a good marriage, protection, the importance of working together, hope, friendship etc. It is the artist's desire to imbue the hanging environment with these messages of positivity.

Ann is a vibrant and prolific artist, wildlife photographer, and author. She was voted in 2020 as one of South Africa's top artists. She initially became known for her ‘ewe/sheep’ series of work. Whilst maintaining her ironic humor she has painted a number of other series of works, including ‘Wild Life’ ‘Zulu Lulu’ and 'Going to the Dogs series. A recurring theme in her work is a play on words and the use of popular jargon. Her quirky, humorous, yet profoundly insightful art, allows the viewer not only to laugh at themselves but to examine many of the absurd aspects of life.
