About the Artist

Maureen Hyman

United Kingdom

Maureen’s art work is often seen as bright and vivacious watercolours, these paintings are often of abstract images and the occasional commissioned portraits. She takes her inspirations from her social surroundings, and her own personal experiences.
Maureen is an artist who has lived in the county of Buckinghamshire for the last 21 years. She has three grown up children who are all professionals in their own right.
Maureen studied at the London College of Fashion in her early twenties where she worked and lived pursuing her dreams to one day become a fashion designer. As a young designer living and working in London life was harder than she thought, and slowly she drifted away from the arts, to work in the many offices. After many years of working 9-5 in an office envi-ronment, she decided to pursue a career in IT. It was at that moment she realised she could really be successful. She gained a Bachelor of Science qualification in Information Systems at University and worked happily for many years.
She never really left her passion, throughout the years she would dabble painting on and off. Until one day during an unprecedented period in all our life’s when Covid 19 struck. She once again picked up a paint brush and has not since put it down.
Her hopes and dreams is to one day exhibit her work in a gallery.
