In part this work was inspired by, a the very dark, dirty and yellowed wood panel that I came upon in a Rag and Bone shop on the wrong side of the tracks in Daytona Beach Fla. when I had a studio there... and if you would care to hear the rest of the fascinating saga... then buy the painting.

David L. Stanton studied in Los Angeles, and lives and works in New Mexico and New York. David's art was and is exhibited at the Nicholas Lawrence Gallery and Modern Hacienda in Palm Desert, the Eric Cohler interiors at 995 Fifth Avenue (The Stanhope), Jennifer Post Design. LA Municipal Art Gallery, New Salon, Lindhurst Gallery, Level One Gallery, Lawrence Street Gallery, State of the Art Gallery, as well as numerous other solo and private exhibitions etc. David was published in the Detroit Free Press, Real Detroit, and Between the Lines. David's art is featured in over seventy private collections internationally. In 1990 and 1992, David was an artist in residence at Dorland Mountain Arts Colony, Temecula, California. In 1984, David was assistant to Alonzo Davis on The Olympic Mural Project in Los Angeles. David received his BFA from the University of Southern California (313) 699-9389
