About The Artwork
Quietly serene and spacious oil painting of a Devon landscape. A semi-abstract, almost surreal interpretation of the green fields and changeable summer sky of the English countryside. Showers of rain have recently swept across the landscape, freshening the colours and clearing the air. Warm blues and soft greys describe the Summer's sky, which rests about the sweeping brushwork used to describe the lush green fields of the foreground. This artwork is painted with Michael Harding Professional Artists oil colours on a stretched canvas. The sides are a clean white (please see additional photograph). This piece will be signed and dated on the back and comes with a signed Certificate of Authenticity. Ready to hang. For shipping this artwork will be carefully wrapped in tissue paper, foam board and bubble wrap, then place in a sturdy cardboard box.

Lizzie Butler is an expressive, semi abstract artist, who works in a contemporary style in oil. Her strong spatial awareness and a passion for working en plein air, inform her practice and lead to paintings that recreate the intangible atmosphere found in landscapes and the peaceful silence of nature. Most of her paintings are begun outside and completed in her London studio. Although working primarily in oil, Lizzie also enjoys the physicality of exploring etching with zinc and steel plates, to create intaglio prints. Lizzie Butler's artwork has been exhibited at Leighton House Museum, Kensington, London, The Russell Gallery, London, and several other Galleries. Lizzie's paintings can be found in collections in America, New Zealand, the UK and across Europe, with several customers returning to buy further paintings and place commissions. March 2019 - Two pieces shortlisted for the Royal Academy of Arts summer exhibition.
