Visiting my old neighborhood in Washington DC on a rainy day is like stepping back into a nostalgic world filled with memories and emotions. As I gaze upon a painting that perfectly captures the essence of this rainy day in traffic, I am moved by its profound beauty. The rain cascades down outside my window. Every stroke of the brush on the canvas brings to life the bustling city street, with its vibrant energy and constant movement. This captivating image frozen in motion serves as a poignant reminder of the importance of pushing onward, even in the face of challenges and doubts. It urges us to keep moving ahead, embracing the journey that lies ahead, despite the uncertainties that may lay in our path. MATERIALS: Oil painting on panel. The artist aimed to recreate the smooth glass-like quality of some classical paints while still giving it energy. This piece was created with finely-ground, pure oil paints with an Alkyd based medium. ARTIST: Dennis Crayon’s art is coveted by collectors and art investors around the world. His work is featured locally as well as nationally. Dennis earned a diploma in painting from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston and is an active member of Washington D.C.’s artistic community.
