I am a professional artist, painter, surrounded by arts and artists. But first at all, I am a spouse, mother and proud grandmother. That’s my life too. My work features a lot of colour with layering and mixed media. A blend of highly detailed and contemporary pop art creations that complete the body of work on display. “I don't have an idea as to what the piece may become when I begin. Then it develops into a puzzle I have to solve, a story with an ending”. "There is something about communicating visually that is incredibly powerful. I often start with images, building the story from the images I create. That way, the viewer can have their own personal interpretation and hopefully makes them feel happy." I've never felt more human than when I'm painting in my studio. That's when I feel truly humble, as I search and tumble on ways of capturing the life, atmosphere, movement, and excitement of the world around me in a drawing or painting. Lucette's paintings reflect her subconscious, "My mind is the studio," she says adding, "My eyes feast on what the world has to offer. I sleep and let my dreams cast their magic, then use my hands as the vehicle of expression." There is an astonishing diversity of styles, techniques and themes that have entered the boundaries of modern art and this in itself is one of the reasons Lucette's work is so highly applauded and collected by art enthusiasts and investors. Lucette was born in Belgium and it was here she mastered the fundamentals of art. After marrying her husband Louis and eager to travel, they both embarked on a journey that would change their lives forever. Australia was a golden thread used to weave Lucette's artistic penchant while mastering the fundamentals of art. She quickly became recognised for her Romantic Impressionism that drew art enthusiasts world wide. Lucette's expansive surfaces command the attention of passers-by, reward the focus of new as well as seasoned collectors and transform a static wall into a portrait of life. Lucette continues to be one of Australia’s most exciting and collectable artists. She continues to exhibit in numerous successful solo and group exhibitions each year. Lucette's work is represented in private collections in Australia, USA, Japan and Belgium.
