The painting of this artwork was inspired by the creation of artificial photosynthesis which is indeed one of the upsides for the future of humanity. During the time of the 20th century, humanity was competing for the creation of powerful weapons which might have brought the end to everyone. Now the use of quantum mechanics has shifted towards a brighter future where the manipulation of atom is viewed creatively.
