“Alpine Garden” I am a nature lover who loves to create bold, happy, cheerful paintings. This is an abstract expressionist landscape featuring a field full of colorful plants with snowy mountain peaks in the background, on a turquoise blue sky. The palette for this piece is a mix of both vibrant and pastel colors. Original XL painting on canvas. Acrylic paint, oil paint marker. Can easily be stretched / framed by your local framing shop - it gives you the opportunity to have it mounted to your own taste, and to choose the style and color of your frame, to better match your decor. Plus, having it stretched by a local framer is often an even much cheaper (and safer) option than shipping a ready-to-hang painting. UNSTRETCHED DIMENSIONS: Total canvas size: ± 65 x 40 inches (165.1 x 101.6 cm) Painted area: ± 64 x 39 inches (162 x 99 cm) FINAL STRETCHED SIZE: 60 x 36 inches (152.4 x 91.4 cm) if stretched using standard stretcher bars OR You can use larger gallery stretcher bars, but in this case the final size will depend on the depth you choose (a larger depth will need to use more of the canvas to wrap around the edges). Sealed with a coat of glossy varnish for protection. Signature on front. Title, year and signature on back. Comes with signed certificate of authenticity. Shipped rolled and carefully packaged in a sturdy tube. Thank you so much for your interest in my work :)

Once upon a time, there was a creative little girl named Caro. She loved spending her time creating drawings, which she then sold for 5 cents or 10 cents to passers-by in front of her family house in Québec, Canada. She dreamed of being an artist when she grew up... Years later, the dream came true! I graduated in graphic design in 1999, and spent the following twelve years working as a graphic designer and art director. Then, finding that my work was not satisfying my thirst for creativity and my need for artistic freedom, I opened my own creative online shop in 2012. In 2023, in addition to my work as a self-employed surface designer and illustrator, I have taken up painting in order to professionally explore a passion that until recently had remained somewhat in the shadows of my other creative achievements. I like to paint simple and repetitive shapes in an abstract expressionist style and intuitive approach, in order to find myself in an almost meditative state - I find freedom there, a creative letting go, I disconnect from everything, and my mind escapes. A color lover, I like to play with all the possible tones and shades imaginable. I create compositions where lines and dots come together in a colorful and happy dance for the eye that looks at them. Rather solitary by nature, I like to create in the quietness of my lakefront home studio in Saint-Mathieu-du-Parc (QC, Canada), with my cat Cocotte by my side.
