About The Artwork

We are destroying the earth by ignoring the disasters caused by climate change. We build large data centres that consume massive amounts of energy, we pollute air, lakes, rivers and seas, we burn forests to grow crops for our large meat consumption. If we keep looking away and not act, we will lose the earth and make it uninhabitable. Opened the triptych shows the earth as it is now, with a face turned up and looking away. Closed it shows what will be left: an empty surreal world. The triptych consists of 6 panels. It can be shown open, partly open or closed. It must be hung tightly to a wall, so it can not tilt. This means it cannot hang on a rail but must be screwed to the wall. It could also stand on a side table, but then a stand should be added. If purchased I would like to know what you prefer, so I can prepare it for display.

Shipping & Returns

Delivery Time:Typically 5-7 business days for domestic shipments, 10-14 business days for international shipments.

At the moment what fascinates me most is the combination of geometric and organic shapes. Maybe this is because I live in a polder: a man made, fully designed piece of land. The shapes of the fields are rectangular, the buildings are modern, not ornamented. They form a sharp contrast between the Dutch sky, the trees, lakes and wildlife. I was born in the Netherlands and live in the new town of Almere. A town 7 meters below sea level. Though I followed one year of art school and a three year course in oil painting, I am largely self taught.
