An Ode to My Fire Painting

This piece was inspired by my own inner fire, and is dedicated to all women. Anger used to feel very unsafe to me and I often sacrificed my own well-being or happiness, in order to avoid conflict or disagreement. Cut to today, where I’ve learned to trust my anger and discomfort, and even lean on it, because it guides me and lets me know where there’s a problem; I’ve learned to become a partner to my anger and deep emotions. I used to feel like my big emotions were too much, and it felt unsafe to actually be in them. Now I trust my emotions and my anger so deeply and I’m not afraid at all. I love my fire. This piece flew out of me with movement and fury, and I think that's reflected in the finished piece. There are tiny explosive moments within this flame, that has your eye dancing all around the canvas with that same fury. I hope you enjoy.
