This is a large abstract painting, painted on a deep canvas, which has a cross bar at the back for support.
I love the strength of this painting. I wanted to make a large atmospheric piece, that balanced lightness and hope, with darkness and drama, in the same piece.
It has a strong flow with the dark blue shape that cuts through the painting, creating momentum and energy.
There is a range of subtle nuances within the light tones, which gives a feeling of light dancing across the painting.
I feel all my work is about the emotion the viewer feels from their interaction with it. The weight of this painting feels very emotive to me. The dark colours have a power and presence, but are given lightness, and are held but the pale softness around them. I hope you are uplifted by this painting.

Ele Pack received her degree from Loughborough College of Art. She now lives and works in Brighton. UK. She has work in private collections in Canada, the US, Japan and Europe. She has exhibited her paintings both nationally, and internationally. Her work has been exhibited by various UK galleries, and overseas in Germany, Sweden and the US. "I believe that visual language has a potent power, like music or literature. And it has the power to lift, communicate and transform. Using pattern and mark to create rhythm, I use a range of materials; paint, pencil, fabric, collage, metallics, and build up my paintings in a very organic way. I overlay layers of paint, mark and collage to build up the pictorial space. This creates glimpses, hidden spaces, things half_ shown, suggested. I use delicate layers of texture, drawing and colour to create an ambiguous space. The image is then worked and re_worked until the image is “found”. Only when a balance and integration is achieved I feel that the painting is finished. I like to think of them as “visual poems”. This sensual world is one to be absorbed, felt, and enjoyed. "
