ABOUT THE ARTWORK
I was inspired by the Genesis creation myth, which describes a spirit accompanying God that hovered over the waters of the deep, before the world came into form. I used my chosen icons of eggshells and gemstones and shells to describe this magical beginning. The composition is borrowed from Alexandre Cabanel’s “The Birth of Venus” 1863.
