About The Artwork
In the age of Anthropocene, I invite a viewer to look more closely at the disappearing nature. My technique of drawing objects as clusters of circles is a way of representing organisms at the point of returning to a state of chaos. If you do not blink they are there, but if you turn away they might be gone. I like to imagine sea-creatures leading their lives at the bottom of the ocean, full of danger and action. Their world was never meant for us. As a scuba diver, I was their guest a number of times. It is a strange realization this of the world with all its beauty and grace is dying a quiet, unannounced death, due to the actions of our civilization.
