About The Artwork

These paintings combine abstraction, movement and the warm color of the tropics as is the origin of the artist, who during this new stage is in a dreamlike search for Development within art inspired by great masters and artists liked Basquiat for example, who imposed a totally different way of life and all its situations. Both the color and the shapes are a whole within each work, which seem to inspire a story untold and in which the words come out hastily as is the case of the large strokes that give shapes but only in the subconscious of those who analyze them. . In each work we can find an energy and ingenuity with an almost playful movement that transports us to places that we know exist and that we are yet to identify, hence we can see images and objects that are not really, but that fill us the Spirit and the desire to continue observing. Carlos's work has traveled extensively on various continents, and has been witnessed and acquired by more than fifty cities, such as Bogota, Caracas, Shanghai, Beijing, Miami, New York, Los Angeles, Madrid, London, Dublin, Shenzhen, Mexico City, Florence, Washington DC, Boston, Las Vegas, Hangzhou, Tokyo, Seoul, among others.

The central theme present throughout my line of work flows from the organic forms of nature and its constant evolution. The natural evolution of life itself. I identify myself with those who perceive art as the expression of an individual in a specific and unique moment of one’s life. I would describe my style as “abstract expressionism” moving sometimes into “figurative abstractionism” with an intense and colorful palette, including contrast and textures that invite the spectator to reflect about its form and meaning.
