This is a painting I made for a book titled If Picasso went on Vacation. It is painted in the style of Rockwell Kent and appropriated from a work called Afterglow Lemarie Channel Antarctica by Cliff Wassmann. It is painted with acrylic on wood. The wood is a little rough as it was painted to be photographed and printed- visible nail holes can be seen through the paint on the surface and there is a small chip or too. It is ready to hang- just tap a nail in the wall and it will hang. Sides are painted so no frame is needed. Here is the poem that is printed along side this painting in the book: If Rockwell Kent went on vacation, could this be a painting of his destination? American artist and lover of nature, here in his style a place full of glacier. A place that is cold all through the year, penguins, and petrels make their home here. Sadly the world is starting to warm, the ices are melting, oceans transform. We as the people of Earth must protect, this greatest gift, before it is wrecked. Think of how much this planet's worth, and find out how we can protect the Earth!
