VIEW IN MY ROOM
The lean-to of La Fonderie, nestled in an island of greenery in the Paris region, inspired this work. It is a painting on Rives paper, mounted on linen canvas, wooden frame. I have my studio at La Fonderie at Fontenay-sous-Bois. It is a very beautiful space, with big and beautiful trees. It is a hangar type architecture. The collective of artists and craftsmen has self-managed the premises since 2006. There is a tremendous energy, made of interactions and work, air and light circulate, the living is there, at work every day.

artist-lamarque.com : The artist of the collection #10 "Le nouveau monde" 9 May 2021 In May, what can we tell you? « Le nouveau monde"A great programme, isn't it? In May, what do we like? To share with you the work of the artist Marion Legouy who has joined us for our imminent session. On the occasion of the very next sale from 14 to 23 May 2021, ARTIST has signed a new collaboration with the emblematic artist of painted weaving. She is our guest of honour for these exceptional days, accompanied by her painting " le nouveau monde». Yes, but for whom? For you: "Women-Artists" who are worth more than anything else in the world! Yes, but why, how? This is the choice ofARTIST which has examined the work with a magnifying glass. Brigitte and François have reconstructed a textile construction and tell you this story sewn with green, bronze, ochre, white, grey and red threads. The selected work was originally inspired by a poplar tree, which was itself taken from a triptych of 2017. Marion Legouy entered art through engraving and has kept her love of paper from her practice as an engraver. She first painted the slender tree with soft white wood on the pages of the newspaper Le Monde, and she remade the world! Old news recycled, another reality installed on the one presented to us, the page of yesterday's facts became painting, painting: weaving, weaving: relief. From brush to scissors, she traced and composed the relationship between form, material, texture and colour. After a meticulous cutting of her paint into strips, she opened up, worked and braided. The assembly and gluing phases were just as carefully executed to finally display or hang. It depends, but always the tactile work moves, vibrates with the movements of the air or the spectator or the vibrations of an upside down world! For the record, "The New World" was the last one painted on the daily newspaper Le Monde as a backdrop. Fortunately, her art has retained its soul. In some of her series, she still intertwines strips of paper, but on bases other than the famous newspaper. Like her practice, one could say that at the crossroads, she has taken a new direction, no doubt to give a new meaning. In our latest collection, you will discover 4 sets of graphic prints, sometimes melting, sometimes strong, declined on some top and bottom pieces with their plain coordinates. The colours are reminiscent of plants.
