About The Artwork
I painted this during lockdown when we were all confined to quarters and dreaming of escaping from the claustrophobia. My dreams were explorations of my own country, Scotland, and how beautiful it is, so I started painting places I have yet to visit. Landscapes are a new subject for me and with them I think I have really found my own style after almost six years of experimentation. The combined use of palette knives and brushes allows me to capture the harshness and the tranquillity of the Scottish landscape where our mountains are the oldest in the world. Painted 2020, acrylic on deep stretched canvas using palette knives and brushwork, edges painted, ready to hang, signed, will be supplied with certificate of authenticity and packaged securely for delivery in a cardboard box.

Recently I found my own style with my series of Scottish landscapes, but I continue to experiment with my Lockdown-inspired images and have lately produced my series of Painted Ladies.
