About the Artist

Enriqueta Aguilo

Uruguay

Enriqueta Aguiló is an Argentine
artist who has lived in Uruguay
for many years. A graduate of the
National School of Fine Arts in
Buenos Aires, she has exhibited in
countless art fairs and private international galleries. In her studio,
she devotes herself to teaching and
leading art seminars. Her works
are part of numerous private collections in Germany, France, the
United States, Sweden, Spain,
Luxembourg, Argentina, Brussels, and other countries. “For me,
painting is living; it is a necessity
of the soul.”
She is an experienced painter and
printmaker based in Uruguay,
whose works have been shown in
many international art galleries.
With the conviction that “beauty
is in the eye of the beholder”, she
seeks to develop her mysterious
association of colors and rhythmic harmonies, encouraging the
viewer’s active participation in the
search for eternal beauty.
In the series “Las Piadosas”, she
delves into a profound exploration of the diverse emotional
states of the human being through
the female figure. Using oils and
mixed techniques, she captures
the complexity and richness of the
feminine experience, where sensuality emerges as the undisputed
protagonist.
Artistic Justification of Her Works
KAIRÓS
Kairós is a Greek philosophical
concept representing an indeterminate lapse of time in which
something important happens.
It is the time of our transcendent
moments, the events that strongly
mark each of our personal paths—
what some call destiny—and that,
at certain moments, led us to make
important decisions.
ATARAXIA
In her series Ataraxia, rooted in
abstract expressionism, the artist
confronts, not without a certain
existential anguish, her great freedom of expression.
Her refined palette and evident but
restrained gesture predominate.
Her paintings invite the viewer to
active participation.
LAS PIADOSAS
In this series, she paints women
that embody their various emotional states. The expressions of their
bodies and the textures of their
backgrounds create an atmosphere
of spiritual sensuality. She develops a pleasurable play that satisfies
our need for eternal beauty.
