ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This painting is a copy by a Romanian artist - Ion Andreescu. The original was owned by members of my family while living in Romania. The onset of war in 1940s meant they had to leave and the painting was given to some friends for safe keeping. The Iron Curtain prevented much contact until after the opening up of Europe many years later. My family managed to obtain a very small photograph of the painting which is where this copy came from. Andreescu would probably have been a more famous artist had he lived longer, but unfortunately died aged 32. Information is available online about the artist.
