ABOUT THE ARTWORK
The painting depicts an autumn park somewhere in Europe. On a sun-warmed bridge, a squirrel cracks a nut. The glistening lake is inhabited by a sculpted family of swans. The artist grew up on the fairy tales of the Brothers Grimm and Andersen, which is why she has a special fondness for fairy tales. On the lake, there is a boat in which a beautiful lady sails alone, seeking shelter from the sun. It is a radiant, tranquil image, imbued with a soothing calmness.
