ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Mixed media. Oil over an acrylic underpainting on stretched canvas mounted on board. Jagged cliffs line the Pacific Coast Highway along Big Sur. Once in a while and depending on the winter rainy season, wild flowers bloom in abundance. After taking few photographs of a wonderful super bloom, I went to my studio to paint this memorable scene. Oil impasto technique, with thick vibrant colors was the immediate approach to painting this landscape.
