ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Abstract mixed media is made of natural oak panel on canvas with a dense acrylic paint. The real artist of my paintings is nature - it creates unique designs of the artworks. My role is to show what a beauty is hidden inside. Each oak panel I find and pick personally, then examine the surface for quite a long time trying to see the narrative of the concrete piece of wood. Afterwards I cut the woodgrains, then mix colors and underline the patterns of the artwork.

WISH I WOOD ART is a creative duet – Alexandra Falishtynskaya (painting) and Daniil Nebo (wood carving) – focused on exploring the interaction of wood textures and colors. Our interest as artists lays in the field of investigation of human artistic culture through the prism of nature and as a result it's expression with abstract paintings made in mixed media technique. Using different tree species WIWA shows that nature is able to create any forms of art pieces imitating man-made figurative and abstract paintings. We believe that nature is the greatest of artists. What kind of art is primary – human or natural – is the question we aim to answer with our works. All of our panels are crafted by hand, each unique in its own right, never to be replicated. This individuality forms an opposition to multiplying media images created with the help of digital tools, a representation of modern visual culture.
