ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Boom Blooming Plumes is one of the paintings in Angela's botanical series of Flowers in vases. She takes to the canvas with a loose and free approach abstracting the flowers by layering shapes of color until she achieves the desired result. The scale of the work as well as the colors which she uses lends itself to create an evocative response. She would like this response to provoke introspection within the viewer. For Angela this subject conjures up happy and sad memories as flowers are given as symbols of thanks, happiness and solace. They remind us of nature’s abundance and in essence the events of a richly layered tapestry of one’s life. Angela gave this painting the title Boom Blooming Plumes because of its bold, striking colors that demand the viewer to take a closer look and enjoy the richness that its color pallet provides.
