After having received a big bag of powdered henna from Morocco, I kept in mind to create a canvas making use of this profound and natural colour. Finally, after waiting for three years I've taken it out and experimented, mixing water with the powder, mixing other colours of paint with it as well as having used the actual powder to cover up wet parts of the painting. The result is a natural and organic work. I've used leather, and other pieces of textile, like raw silk and burlap to give the work more body and accentuations. It all contributes to even more elements of the base of natural materials and mediums. And therfore state of mind.
width 2,5 cm due to the pawn sticking outwards in the middle of the canvas.

Art is my prayer. I try to bridge all my experiences into something beautiful, heal any hurt with the magical touch of paint, an eventual mirror, cloth or mosaic. Unlike my fast paced multitask nature, the moment I sit down to paint I enter another realm there where I can reflect and be still. My greatest inspirations and influences are nature and the magnificence of cultures from around the world. In awe of these wonders it is my wish to pause for a moment, express this beauty, whilst giving thanks. Note: Please take in account that nearly all works presented are unstretched. This is due to weight/shipping and storage. Please ask if you have questions concerning the space surrounding the composition. Email:
