ABOUT THE ARTWORK

"Bamberg" is a mesmerizing watercolor painting that offers a dreamlike view of the old German city. Through this enchanting perspective, viewers are transported to a world of romantic charm, where rooftops and Fachwerk (half-timbered) buildings are bathed in soft and ethereal pink tones. Interspersed amongst the rooftops are the charming Fachwerk buildings, their half-timbered facades serving as visual poetry. Bathed in romantic pink hues, the Fachwerk buildings exude an air of elegance and historical significance. The soft and delicate pink color palette envelops the entire scene, infusing it with a sense of romance and whimsy. Shades of blush, pastel pink, and warm rose create an atmosphere that feels ethereal and otherworldly. The artist's adept use of watercolor techniques adds a touch of transparency and translucency, allowing the colors to blend and merge with a sense of softness and grace. "Bamberg" is a visual ode to the old city's romantic allure and architectural splendor. Through the medium of watercolors, the artist captures the essence of Marburg's timeless charm and invites viewers to embrace the whimsical and enchanting nature of the city. It is a painting that transports us to a realm where history intertwines with dreams, evoking a sense of nostalgia and igniting the imagination.

Self-knowledge is what my art gives me. I've learned to enjoy the process, that's what I like most about watercolor. I work mainly in the wet technique, because that's how watercolor shows its maximum potential. The result is always unpredictable, because the watercolor does half of the work and I like that bit of uncertainty that I can't change. I complete the painting and the painting completes me. The granularity of the pigments, the undertones, the airiness - that's why I love watercolor. I really like to experiment and paint not only with traditional watercolor tools such as brushes, but also with bags, napkins, sponges, etc. I like to paint on large formats as I feel more free to do so. The main idea of my art is to give people an opportunity to understand themselves and their attitude by looking at familiar things, to discover simple things anew. I draw on free subject matter, it's more important for me to feel what I want to depict, whether it's an apple or a street in Italy. I'm interested in exploring color combinations and their effect on people in my work. I try to capture the essence of what is being portrayed without being too detailed, leaving the viewer free to imagine. I'm inspired by the space around me, the way nature and man live together.
