I paint large seascapes, landscapes, abstracts, draw with pen and ink, make driftwood pictures and accept commissions for paintings and murals. I live in Northumberland and my degree is from Edinburgh College of Art. I used to live close to Cheswick Beach and have became best known for my atmospheric seascapes, inspired by daily visits to the beach with my dogs. Seeing the sea everyday, it became omnipresent in my life. I now recognise it grabbed me rather than the other way around. I don't think I will ever tire of painting the sea with its different moods, colours and light reflected in the waves and sky. I work to create a painting with spirit and feeling. If someone comments that they feel they could get their toes wet in a picture then I am very pleased. I have now moved inland and I am thrilled to be painting the huge vistas, light on the hills and fields and flowers I grow in the garden.
