About The Artwork

This painting is part of a series inspired by a famous work by Maurizio Cattelan. I remember taking this idea after seeing the public reaction to the artist's work that he had. Hanging a banana on the wall with scotch tape. So I tried to work my version and I therefore thought of representing a banana which in this case is not +1 banana but the shadow a trace of a banana. The idea behind the painting is a very simple idea and is fundamentally linked to the concept of the impossibility of being trapped. In this case the scotch represents everything that wants to hold back creating bonds in a certain sense can also be interpreted as laws or as social impositions. The fact that in the picture there is no Bcn the Banana physically but there is only the trace the imprint the silhouette of the fruit simply means one thing we are a banana that we want to be we want to be trapped or we are able to escape before they put us trapped. I am of the first idea we must try to anticipate and always try not to end up in the trap. That is the simple concept behind this picture. As in most of my paintings and my works the ultimate meaning of my work is to generate a question to push the viewer to action in this case we ask a very simple question the banana has managed to escape or has freed itself . I that the people who see this painting referring to Cattelan's famous work think of what comes before the conception of the work, that is not the banana itself as an object attached to the wall which is then eaten by the rich millionaire New Yorker who after spending 120,000 $ for a banana if he eats it but here and here I want to desecrate the concept of the banana that can be eaten making it ethereal as if it were a kind of sacred shroud trivialized because it represents a simple Banana. I chose to paint this picture with the Seal stand technique precisely because it lends itself perfectly to the idea that lies at the bottom of the picture.
