This work was created in lockdown and took 17 days over 3 weeks to create. A development in my Barcode series, I explore geometric shapes here and enjoy creating light and shade purely through dots of paint across multiple layers and shades. There are NO lines or background colours painted. 30,000+ dots of paint. 150 shades of colour. 17 Days. The texture of this painting is a key part of the work as every point of paint forms a ridge on the canvas and when looked in light at the side, seems like a moonscape. Check out the short video of the Making of Barcode Geo here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5ZioEecVAIQ 150 x 120 cm. Acrylic on Deep Canvas.
