Barry White Surprise Painting

Years ago, a good friend's mom asked me, very specifically, to paint her a portrait of a nude black man. I searched for sarcasm in her voice, but found nothing but deadly intent. As the months folded into years, she relentlessly hounded me to complete this painting. "Maybe I can have my painting before I die," was often her guilt trip of choice. As a professional layabout, however, this sort of thing has very little effect on me. It's not that I didn't want to give her a painting, quite the contrary. I was excited to deliver a masterpiece to her. I should probably back up a minute and mention that her son, my good friend, is a much more accomplished artist than myself. So my motivation was to create a piece for his mom that she liked better than anything he had ever done for her. Like I said, I hadn't NOT painted it because I didn't want to. I just take forever to do things sometimes because I wait for the pure inspiration to hit. So finally one day I realized oh shit, I'm gonna paint her Barry White drinking champagne in the bathtub. Because come on, that is what every grandma needs hanging in her bedroom. That is some sexy shit. And well, it just kind of came together at that point. I spent the most time on the chest hair and the bubbles. The glamour shots style laser background, that just painted itself and I didn't see any reason to change it. So anyways, long story short, if you know a grandma who needs a little more romance in her life, do her a favor and get her a print of this extremely sexy piece. BEFORE SHE DIES!
