ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Bean Rock is an infamous Lighthouse marker in the Rangitoto channel in the Hauraki Gulf in the greater Auckland area. This is a well known image to all that live in Auckland. This small reef is in the shipping channel approach to Auckland, which is now a major port city. The land mark is a wooden cottage style, one of a kind and built in 1870. Originally the lighthouse was lived in but no longer is.
