ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This work is part of the "Being Horse" collection, where I described an animal that is very dear and well known to me. I am passionate about about horses since childhood, I had in fact the opportunity to practice horse riding and to work in contact with these beautiful animals for several years. In these works I try to divert attention from the amateur or professional context of the horse linked to man and to concentrate on the animal only, free from any human duty and imposition. The central part of the work is the eye that looks towards the viewer, mirror of the soul, which leads us towards the intimate and psychological sphere of the horse; externally it is instead represented by a set of pen lines that describe its shapes and muscles in a very plastic, almost sculptural way, plasticity also accentuated by the collage of watercolor paper of various thicknesses that gives volume and movement to the animal.

Irene Meniconi was born in Florence in 1986, then moved, still a child, in the Chianti shire immersed in nature that will always be the foundamental element of inspiration for his artistic creation. After graduating at the “Accademia delle Belle Arti” in Florence, the artist has collaborated with numerous companies from different sectors: from fashion, to food and wine, to publishing, interior decoration for professional offices, public and private spaces. At the same time she carries on her personal artistic work creating mixed media paintings, the result of the studies and of her artistic career brought along in years. She exhibited his works taking part in solo and group exhibitions in many Italian Galleries.
