My father, a civil engineer, took me on tours of jails and prisons in my youth simultaneous to my religious, celestial grooming in enclosed institutions. This exposure to vast landscapes and constrained, invasive dwellings continues to shape my artistic career. I am intrigued by the contradiction of being in a place yet not being the place, that there is always a link and separation between structure and freedom.
