Painting: Oil on Canvas.
Through my abstract paintings I am looking for a kind of art which grows, develops and changes structures and colours similar to biological or geografical processes in nature without referring to plants, flowers or wood.
First I use and develop techniques similar to Decalcomanie or Grattage, which have been invented by Max Ernst in order to give the canvas a certain structure. When the canvas is completely covered with paint, I try to work out what has come into beeing either on purpose or accidentially, by painting coloures, structures, lines, dots and so on with brushes. During the working process I have to decide what has to be added, completed or deleted until I receive the best result - an abstract composition of floating and organic structures and coloures.
