"Big Bottomed Girls" Painting

Travel nourishes my soul, and nature fills my canvas. The natural world is my greatest source of inspiration—its endless wonder, diversity, and movement continually draw me in as does my insatiable sense of curiosity. Through my work, I capture the world as I see it and feel it with vibrant hues that burst with life, energy, and joy. Working mainly in acrylics, after starting with watercolours, I create energetic paintings that celebrate the world around me through colour, texture, and playful stories. My practice blends realism with imagination, inviting a joy-filled dialogue between the observed and the imagined. Each piece is layered with lively colour and shaped by my mixed Sri Lankan and Dutch heritage, which deeply influences my perspective and artistic expression. Inspired by masters such as Vincent van Gogh and Claude Monet, I am self-taught and have nurtured a lifelong passion for painting and creativity. For me, art is both sanctuary and expression, a tranquil space where I can immerse myself fully, create freely, and share my unique view of the world.
