About The Artwork

The African vibe is everything from our men to our beautiful black women, I think being a black woman already makes you a Queen and the inspiration behind this piece is to showcase the beauty and royalty of the black culture. I want the world to understand and appreciate that the black woman is strong, confident and most of all beautiful. I work with oils because I love the way it brings out the realism of my subject as visible in this piece. The jewelry on the neck and the crown on the head wrap was made with a golden shiny material for beautification and the head wrap with acrylic markers to express the local african designs to the diaspora
