"Black & Blue" A Personal Note: "This is a hard one, and the conversation I am having with myself on what to share is causing me to pause. How much do I tell about this piece, and how hard is the concept to share? I will be honest this piece is about abuse. I am a child of abuse; however, no one noticed the signs. Often I hear stories of what to look for in victims, and I want to cry and say, well, no one saw these signs on me. It's not because they weren't there it's just I was very good at hiding them. There is more to look at in people than sometimes what meets the eye. Look deeper. Look where no one else is. Often we avoid asking the questions we should be asking about abuse. We feel like something is off. Yet we can't put our finger on it. So we ask just enough and move on. The headline here is abuse is very easy to cover up most times in Children. I beg you, don't look away. Even when you study the colors in this art, stare at it for a minute, pray to understand, be open to all the feelings. It maybe is hard to hear; it may be harder to understand that's ok. Being sensitive it listen, and observe is enough." - Gracein
