ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This work is a collaboration between the artist Jerry Ross and his great grandson Kona Rain, age 2 and a half. The latter is an aspiring young artist who loves to paint and draw. Bardos are figures repesenting nature spirits and relate to the Tibetan Book of the Dead in which bardos are described as phases of life and death via reincarnation or becoming. There is also a bardo of Dharma which infuses the concept via Buddhist philosophy. Blissfgul bardo is a happy spirit that is a guide, a companion, and a protector. Anyone enduring a personal or health crisis can surely benefit from a happy warrior by ones side.
