ABOUT THE ARTWORK
I chose to title the piece “Bloody Mary” because of its perceived variation - it could be tin reference to Queen Mary I of England, the folklore game derived from her back story or the mixed drink. My primary thoughts in making this piece was the latter as I do not have a fond taste for the Bloody Mary concoction. I was trying to correlate the color with the drink and have a subtle back and forth play with the eye, in relation to what alcohol starts to do after glass of one of these “hair of the dog” cocktails.
