" Gestures, traits in my paintings must be both present and absent." TAMHUY is a Vietnamese artist whose paintings have been featured in several exhibitions in France. His artworks are influenced by Buddhist philosophy, which includes the intrinsic concepts of karma, birth, death, and rebirth. For Nguyen, the artistic process is part of meditation, he listens inwardly then expresses himself through colors and musical brush strokes, which can be likened to gestural abstraction. He endeavors to create engaging pieces that are both present and absent at the same time. In 2017 Huy graduated with a degree in painting from Fine arts school of Versailles, in France. Artist Reference: Willem de Kooning, Joan Mitchell, William Turner, Georges Mathieu, Zao Wou Ki, Wang Yan Chen, Kazuo Shiraga, Antoni Tàpies, Claude Monet, Joan Miro, Paul Jenkins, Olivier Debré, Cy Twombly, Gerhard Richter, Nguyen Gia Tri, Emil Nolde, Howard Hodgkin.
