Acrylic painting on canvas (50x70 cm), signed by the painter. The artwork depicts one the most suggestive places in the Mediterranean: the Aragonese Castle in Ischia, the beautiful island in the Gulf of Neaples. The Aragonese Castle of Ischia is an ancient architectural complex built on an islet of volcanic origin, now connected to the mainland by a bridge and overlooking a pretty village. I assure you that scenographically it is an incredible place, not only because of the islet but because behind it you can admire a rich landscape with the island of Vivara, Procida and the Campanian coast in the beautiful stretch from Baia to Cumae. The first fortress dates back to the 5th century BC and was later used by the Romans, who expanded it with watchtowers to monitor the passage of enemy ships. In the Middle Ages the castle became a refuge for the population of Ischia against the looting of Visigoths, Vandals, Ostrogoths, Arabs, Normans, Swabians and Angevins. It was necessary, however, to wait until the mid-15th century for the castle to take on its present appearance, thanks to the Aragonese, who had mighty walls and fortifications built and remodeled the castle to make it more similar to the Maschio Angoino of Naples. According to documents of the 'era, by the end of the 16th century the castle was inhabited by 1892 families, there were 13 churches, two monasteries, the bishop's seat and the seminary.

My love for art has its roots in my childhood and, over time, has found fertile ground in my calm and solitary nature and my taste for beauty. Painting is the language that I feel most viscerally mine and is for me an experience of personal enrichment. The long hours of solitary work in my studio allow me to turn off the noise of everyday life in which we are immersed and rediscover the truest part of me, cultivate observation and patience, tenacity and optimism. I don't know what strange magic happens at the easel, but I imagine that everyone who has welcomed a great passion into their lives has experienced something similar. I love the sea, the sun and the Mediterranean culture, which I have had the privilege of nourishing myself with from an early age. My paintings reflect all this and represent, in vibrant colours, landscapes and nature, allowing me to celebrate their beauty. I use acrylic paints to create my works, whose characteristics are best suited to my way of creating. Their quick drying allows me to follow the inspiration of the moment. Each of my paintings is the result of a superimposition of layers, which gives fullness and body to the colour, enriching each element of the painting with beautiful nuances. Each artwork is a unique piece, painted with love.
