About The Artwork

This work is part of the 2019 "Blue Moon Series". Blue Moon is a theme that emerges periodically in my work. It is inspired by time spent in the high desert landscapes of New Mexico. Minimal abstract series such as this often have the feel of landscapes. This is not intentional. They emerge spontaneously as spin offs of larger, more complex painting projects. They usually indicate a winding down of the creative process and are very restful for me to paint after a period of intense concentration. I hope that the viewer will share in their restful, meditative feeling when they view the piece. Please note that because this piece is painted on heavy watercolor paper, it comes framed in a simple studio quality frame intended to preserve it during shipping as well as to allow the buyer to view and hang it immediately without handling the paper until a more suitable choice of frame can be made.

Technology has played an important role in the development of my work as an artist. Though I consider myself primarily a painter, I feel that much of my most original and progressive work is in the newly emergent digital medium. I grew up artistically in the heart of a technological hub and this was central to the integration of technology with my art. I do not believe that technology is "the" future of art. I believe that technology, like every innovation in art before it, is an exciting new aspect of modern art and I feel honored to be a part of that. I am also a theorist on the nascent field of contemporary metapsychology.
