My name is Martine Vanderspuy, art director and principle artist behind the Martine Gallery. I have lived in many parts of the world growing up on four continents and finally settling in Australia. I chose to study graphic design which led me to setting up a multiple award-winning graphics businesses. Apart from my graphics I help support a charity to raise funds for research for Mitochondria disease. Our youngest child suffers from this devastating disease. We have raised much need funds for research. Over $200,000 to date. Bring on that cure. I have experimented with many different mediums. Resin however has become my favourite and principal medium of experimentation and creativity. The medium is fluid in nature and extremely difficult to work with as it constantly moves making it a challenge to capture the colour and fluidity of the final composition. Using many layers, the resin creates vibrancy, colour and clarity, the shadows and the glint of light on water. The tactile nature and depth of the resin almost allows you to dive into the artwork. I aim to create artworks that lift peoples spirits by viewing the ever changing ocean. Creating my art series 'Window to the Sea'. I also love fine art photography. This has resulted in my Botanical range all available through my website. I love the vibrant colours of floral. Mixing them with inks and multi media through Photoshop results in a unique artwork to add a pop of colour to any interior. All of my photographic works are printed into archival canvas with a 75 year ink life. All produced in Australia ready to hang. Through my art I hope to create much needed awareness about Mitochondrial Disease. See more on Instagram martinesart The world is our canvas. The creative options are endless. Enjoy. Fundraising for our son who has a terminal disease - a percentage of my art sales are donated to research to help find a cre for Tommy and so many more.

Australia
Based in Sydney, Martine Vanderspuy has had a lifetime love affair with the sea, this has led to her aerial inspired resin art. Through experimentation, she has mastered the difficult process of painting with resin, creating photo realistic work depicting the moods of the ocean. Martine’s paintings inspire the feeling of movement and open a visual window onto the sea. Her bold compositions use the fluidity and translucency of resin to capture dazzling effects of light & water. Living abroad for most of her early life, her family finally settled in Australia where she finished her schooling and went on to study graphic art. As a graphic artist she worked in Canada and Australia in the advertising world. She established her own graphic art studio in1982 which won many awards within its field. In 2015 she established her own art gallery in Northbridge, Sydney - Martine Gallery. Martine exhibits her resin paintings in numerous exhibitions in the US, Europe and Australia. Her works are held in private collections around the world. She has exhibited with The Other Art Fair in Sydney and Los Angeles four times over the past few years. “I am inspired by the ocean: its power, beauty, and tranquility. This multitude of moods is what I am trying to convey in my painting.” The Martine Gallery helps to raise funds and create awareness of research into Mitochondrial(Mito) disease. Martine’s son Tom suffers from the disease which has no known cure. Martine is a passionate supporter for research into understanding Mito with the hopes of finding a cure. A percentage of sales are donated to Mitochondrial Disease (Mito) research. Mito is a debilitating genetic disorder that robs the body’s cells of energy, causing multiple organ dysfunction or failure and potentially death. Martine’s passion is to support finding a cure for her son and many others by using her talents as an artist to spread her message though out the world.
